Another Skimmer

This time a Roseate Skimmer Orthemis ferruginea. This rose-colored beauty was chasing tiny flying things at the edge of the DogPark's small  pond. These dragons are not as comfortable with me and my camera as the ones around our pond at home. So it took me a while to manage this shot. Roseate Skimmers are native to the Americas where their range extends from the United States to Brazil. And (a trivia tidbit) it's an introduced species in Hawaii. Check my *extras for a Great Blue Skimmer and a small American Bullfrog (perhaps a female) peering up to me from our pond.
