Groundhog Day
More rain, more wind, much like yesterday. Was it only three days ago we were lurking indoors to keep cool?
Today we were thinking about lighting the fire. Maybe we will when TM emerges from the Isolation Inn where he and C are having a glass of malt and a good grumble.
TM sawed up the last of the gean (wild cherry) that we felled a few weeks ago. We planted two of them about 10 years back, not knowing how fast or how big they would grow. They were almost up to the power lines, and had never managed to produce a cherry, so they had to go.
The trailer load of logs proved too much for the poor old tractor, that and the wet grass meant it just couldn't make it up the hill and it has been abandoned till things dry up a bit.
The roses are flourishing though, so it's not all gloom.
