Spaced out

The weather has been absolutely shocking here today. Only in England, could you have the hottest day of the year closely followed by one of the wettest.

None of us were feeling particularly inspired this morning and I needed to try and rally the troops who were disappointed to learn that they wouldn’t be seeing their older sister this afternoon - I think they were spoilt with the access they had to her last week.

Fortunately, I am an experienced hoarder of cardboard boxes…….YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU MIGHT NEED THEM…..so with the rain pouring and wind whipping around the windows, we set about with scissors, masking tape and pens to make a spaceship to enable us to fly away some where.

I even found a “flight through stars” video on YouTube and put it up on the big telly as an improvised simulator, not that they needed it as their imaginations were in full flow.

Nice way to spend a few hours, the remaining hours this evening will be spent trying to find a parking bay for a massive cardboard spaceship and not playing in it all.

No sir-ee, not me….
