Another Early Morning Walk

Myles is getting so used to these walks that he looks at me expectantly after I finish my coffee.  The day was beautiful, didn't reach above 80F and it's now raining, thunder storms.  Maybe that big brown patch in the middle of the back yard will get a little greener.

Today Jon and I attended the Celebration of Life for Aaron, Sumner's first date.  It was just a luncheon get together but a chance to express our sadness in person to his parents who we haven't seen in a very long time.  Also connected with a couple of their high school friends again.  John is now an undercover narcotics officer and trying to help out in his own way after the loss of his two good friends.  He says they're trying to go after the top most level of dealers, the ones who control all the little guys, the ones who lurk in the shadows and call the shots.  We met Aaron's fiancé, my heart breaks for her and the lost dreams.

Came home and took a nap after all that and then went out for Indian takeout.  The joy of having Na'iema around, silly, playful and loving topped the day and helped to dissolve the sadness.
