Today was a mess. I had an oral exam, in this version specifically for me, and I had problem with Internet! Practically didn't have it in the house, which is quite common for us, since we live in the middle of nowhere and Italy is the worst in digital advancement, so no fiber for us, just ADSL. But it was embarassing: slow, no sound, automatic disconnession because of low quality. I think people in UK have essay to send in a certain amount of time: that would be a solution, but not something we normally use.

I really hope September will bring us good news (exams in presence), because I'm already worried for the next exam, and I can't garantee anything.

They want a room with closed door, and to see the surrounding before the exam: can't use McDonalds or libraries, and another person's house means having one of their room and their internet at your exclusive use for several hours.

Will do again today's one in two weeks time, but I prefer at this point the written version, so that I won't make examinators lose time. I wrote to them in order to explain my situation and they didn't answer as for now: I'm scared.

So much that I'm willing to pray for the first time a saint.

Update: the examiners answered and they will let me take my exam in the oral version in two weeks time.

Truth: the system is a mess and some things are a real pain, but all my professors have always been very kind.

Another Truth: since praying worked, now I might actually start to pray San Gennaro to help me win the lottery.

Oggi è stato un casino. Ho avuto un esame orale, in questa versione appositamente per me, e ho avuto problemi con Internet! Praticamente non ce l'avevamo in casa, il che è abbastanza comune per noi, dal momento che viviamo in mezzo al nulla e l'Italia è la peggiore nel progresso digitale, quindi nessuna fibra per noi, solo ADSL. Ma è stato imbarazzante: lento, nessun suono, disconnessioni automatiche a causa della bassa qualità. Penso che le persone nel Regno Unito abbiano un saggio da inviare in un certo periodo di tempo: sarebbe una soluzione, ma non qualcosa che normalmente usiamo.

Spero davvero che Settembre ci porti buone notizie (esami in presenza), perché sono già preoccupata per il prossimo esame e non posso garantire nulla.

Vogliono una stanza con la porta chiusa e vedere l'ambiente circostante prima dell'esame: non posso usare McDonalds o le biblioteche, e casa di un'altra persone significa avere una stanza e Internet a uso esclusivo per diverse ore.

Farò di nuovo quello di oggi tra due settimane, ma a questo punto preferisco la versione scritta, in modo da non far perdere tempo agli esaminatori. Ho scritto loro per spiegare la mia situazione e non hanno risposto per ora: ho paura.

Tanto che sono disposta a pregare per la prima volta un santo.

Aggiornamento: gli esaminatori hanno risposto e mi permetteranno di sostenere il mio esame nella versione orale tra due settimane.

Verità: il sistema è un disastro e alcune cose sono un vero dolore, ma tutti i miei professori sono sempre stati molto gentili.

Un'altra verità: poiché la preghiera ha funzionato, ora potrei davvero iniziare a pregare San Gennaro per aiutarmi a vincere la lotteria.
