Portishead

Not that many years ago this was a port importing coal , phosphorus, fuel and a variety of produce from all over the world.

But times change. The industries and power stations that clustered around this dock area have gone and with them the jobs that provided employment .

In just a few years it has been replaced with new housing, restaurants, a magnificent and buzzing Marina. The jobs are now in Bristol and the railway line that bought in coal for the power station is now a cycle path but is desperately needed to get people to their jobs in Bristol.

Enough said!! Please forgive the sweeping statements. We only came for a walk. It’s kinda wonderful isn’t it. Time moves on!
