Omamori

Mamoru the verby is to protect.  This is a kind of charm sold at shinto shrines.  A friend gave it to me after I found out his home town was the first pace I lived in Western Tokyo.  It's from Okunitama shrine in Fuchu.
It's on one of my camera bags.  You can get o'mamori for anything from passing your exams to safe childbirth.
