Short back & sides sir?

Well - I'm still un-scalped; BUT, having got a bit brassed off by ducking/fighting my way through/past/under the lower hanging branches I attacked and "gave it a reet good powlin'  "

For the record:-
I haven't the foggiest idea whence it comes - BUT - I doubt a search will reveal it, except as a surname.
It may be Dialect, it may be family, but, either way it's NOT invented by me.
