Sundew

I've known that there was a patch of carnivorous Round-leaved Sundew somewhere on the moor for a number of years but have not previously been able to track it down. Finally I secured some decent directions, and today I was able to go straight to it. A beautiful and fascinating plant.

You'll also see some Cranberry intermingled, and with Bog Asphodel and Cross-leaved Heath within a couple of feet this is a special spot. Somewhere nearby is supposed to be the tiny orchid  Lesser Twayblade but that remains elusive for the moment.

I just popped out for an hour over lunch, but there were a few butterflies about. Plenty of Meadow Brown, Ringlet, and Small Tortoiseshell with the odd Peacock, Small heath and Small Skipper too.
