Stone

Shopping on a Wednesday, something I've not dome for a while.  Managed to whip round quickly. Last stop I parked my bike in All Saints Passage, spotted the marks on the stone for a blip. Seconds later as I'm unlocking my bike a chalky figure emerges in a cloud of plaster dust from what used to be a tailor's shop.  I said you need a mask. He replied he had one but had left it inside to get some air.  I asked what the new shop was going to be and he said it was going to be another Jack's ice cream shop.  And then said Jack had given him and his sons ice cream and was enthusing about strawberry and balsamic vinegar ice cream and passionfruit and basil. He remarked on the addition of basil unexpected was a winning ice cream flavour. I said he wouldn't be buying anymore supermarket after such sophisticated flavours.  Then I wished him well, asked him to stay safe and he responded you too, take care and I pootled off home.
I'm looking forward to trying that ice cream.
