Wave power for oysters, penguins and anemones!

This was the scene on the West coast of Orkney today. The waves were fantastic and the power amazing.

The photo was taken at Billia Croo, the European Marine Energy Centre site where the international test bed is for wave and tidal power.

We have had a variety of machines there including an Oyster, a Penguin, a Snake and an Anemone!

There was some debate about the suitability of the site and whether the waves would be good enough to test the equipment.

Nobody is asking this now!
