Heron on Canada Day

Took a slightly longer walk (for me) out the front door and over one bridge and back over another…there’s a short bit that makes you feel away from city.  (extra)  But the heron was close by on Lake Union.  Thought his feathers were looking particularly elegant.   

July 1..Canada Day… Canada is 153 years old.  Officially.    Mixed feelings today.  I’d like to be there but don’t blame them for keeping us out. angry it didn’t have to be this way if things were managed better here.   Just looked at last years blip and see it was the last time the grey float was hauled in with family there as well  …so that makes me feel good.  The rowing club on Saltspring finally managed to pick it up just recently, in the last month, so we really will not see it, if we ever get up there. to see anything.  Our Canada celebration was french toast with maple syrup from Canada.,  :-)(other extra)


Meanwhile, life moves on…..the CHOP zone on Capital Hill  (occupied by Black Lives Matter and other protesters)  was finally taken apart and police moved back to the precinct.   The protests were valid but it was weeks past that, with some shootings (not by police)  making that area especially unsafe .
