Portuguese Cherries

Bought these on our way home and have thoroughly enjoyed eating them today. Portugal produces around 12,000 tonnes of cherries per year, mostly in the regions we came through yesterday.

When it was still 30°C at almost midnight last night, we decided the priority today was for Mike to put up shade cloth on our west wall, and the bamboo mat over our patio. The grapevines should have been covering it by now, but they've obviously not been watered enough; just glad they're still alive.

I washed all our warm clothes, won't be needing them for a while now. And did a load of weeding, all looks a lot better, but much still to do. And watering. And hacking off suckers from the fruit trees.

Gratefuls:
- Cecílio and Ermelinda coming to visit, and collect our postbox key to pick up our post. They were wearing masks and stood well away, but so good to see them and their two dogs, and to chat. Bad news is that there has been a serious outbreak of Covid in Reguengos, over the Lake, brought by a woman from Lisbon, when lockdown was eased - two more died today.
- a cool house tonight
- FaceTime with family
