Blackcurrant ice-cream

Ingredients for the raw blackcurrant ice cream I remember making as a child, it’s from the Times Cook’s Calendar by Katie Stewart that we were brought up with.  We lost the book somewhere and I found another copy on the internet.  It’s a lot of mashing berries through a sieve and whipping up cream.  I have an ice cream maker which is a bit of a beast but so rewarding if you can find somewhere to store it.   The farm shop had blackcurrants,  a perk of us being here regularly rather than dipping in and out.
