Day 102 Raised Salt Art

Today I have used Violet's raised salt art picture as the basis for my abstract.  I haven't done much, just saturated the colour and layered one shot over another.  Raised salt art involves drawing your chosen design with pva glue (Violet has chosen just a random abstract design), sprinkling it with salt, shaking off the surplus and then when it has dried a little, using thinned down water colours to paint the design.  When your brush touches the salt,  the colour travels and adjoining colours run  into each other in a pleasing way.  Violet is very good at applying the right amount of pressure and on this occasion added glitter to give extra sparkle.  Many thanks to Ingeborg for her continued hosting.

In other news: still no specific news about the countries to which we might travel without quarantining on our return.  The Minister for Education has insisted that school will be compulsory for all pupils, all full time and taught the full curriculum and that fines for unauthorised absences returning.  That is unless at least  two pupils test positive for the virus, in which case the year group or even the entire school might be shut down.  And of course if there are any particular areas with spikes of infection they will return to lockdown for 14 days.  It must be clear to anyone that full time education for all pupils will mean that the majority of safety measures will have to be put to one side.
