Nestor meridionalis

The Kaka, one of New Zealand's three endemic parrots. This bird is all over Stewart Island. I was able to walk right up to this one while it was crunching twigs to lick the bugs out from underneath the bark. I got within a half meter of it and it didn't even blink an eye. Not even a nictitating membrane.
