Horse Chestnut Seed Pod
The high winds over recent days has brought down a lot of tree branches, leaves and also these immature horse chestnut seed pods. I found these ones on a wall - at chest height so I didn’t have to bend down to get the shot. I was also able to lean the camera on the wall for stability during the long exposure needed in the poor light! Falling on the wall like this means it has not been trodden into the footpath like the others, although it is not going to grow anyway.
A trip to Leeds City Centre (well the edge of it) today to collect one of Mrs madwill’s sewing machines which has been in for a service! Lots of roadworks near the centre so the journey was a bit tedious. They are long term works (until Spring 2021) so heaven knows what the traffic will be like as more people return to work / shop.
Another food delivery received today - only one substitute, they sent dried tarragon instead of oregano! Had a laugh with the driver about that - and he said that last week a lady had ordered a pregnancy test kit which was out of stock (lockdown baby boom???) and they had sent a packet of three contraceptives instead! Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted methinks…
