What Scape?

How many words can you name ending in -scape? Let’s see, escape, landscape, hardscape, moonscape...can you think of any others? Hmmm, what about today’s blip? Have you ever seen one? Here’s a hint, it ends in -scape. Lol, I’m teasing you now. It’s growing in our garden and it’s a garlic-scape • It’s a flower stem that grows from the top of hardneck garlic about 3 weeks before the garlic is ready for harvest. It’s edible and normally removed once the serpentine flower curls once or twice. If left, it will grow to 5’ and the pod will open in to a beautiful flower • We purposely left a couple to see them. All others were removed to add to stir fries; you can also make pesto and can pickle them too • Time for me to E-scape!!
