Best friends
Our front door looks out onto nothing special. If you were to stand just outside the door, you wouldn't be impressed at all with the landscape or surroundings. It is less than ho-hum. But from inside the house looking out, it seems magical and flourishing. I have taken several pictures of my kiddos in this doorway. The houses here are super close to each other, but the architects of the neighborhood made our doors in the middle on the side sort of slanted to the street. It allows for the view to hit the only 5X5 foot section of the neighbor's yard that had any foliage. An illusion for sure. Brooklyn sat there with our cat Kiko having a conversation that only the two of them will ever know the subject of. He is a patient cat and she is a sweet little girl. It is so precious to watch their exchanges. Kiko has been with our family for many years and may only have a handful left. I pray that there is enough years left for them to continue to grow that bond so that he sits properly in her heart and memory.
