The five-mile limit on travel for exercise was lifted yesterday and we headed out. Chose to go south to avoid the inevitable traffic jams of the A9/A84 even though the weather forecast wasn't fantastic.

What was fantastic was to get out of Edinburgh and into the country. AB#2 accompanied me up this Donald in the cloud. Views were not extensive. We got wet feet, sore knees, midged, sweaty. What's not to like??!

We saw a Red Kite soaring above the valley floor, and later a pair of eagles. Loads of field mice dotting about the hillsides, and a few frogs.

Sadly we were initially deterred by a sign on a gate on the way to the hill (the way being in published guidebooks), saying "GO HOME! No Walkers! No Dogs! Beyond this gate". Try and stop me.
