Girls and Boys

Today has been a bit of a whirlwind, we left home at 7.30am and drove to mums. The traffic was fine and we had a great journey, but couldn’t believe how many caravans were on the roads!

We arrived at mums at midday and spent a couple of hours with her, before heading to see Alan’s parents. We stayed a couple of hours there, and then went to see our girls.

Rach had gone to the hairdresser’s this afternoon (lucky girl) so wasn’t there when we arrived but turned up soon after. Scarlett and Violet must have been watching for us and came running out of the house - they were excited to see us, but their attention quickly turned to the boys. After they’d given them a fuss, we took them for a walk and we clipped a second lead onto the harnesses so the girls could hold them, but so could we.

When we got back, we surprised the girls with roller skates for each of them, so of course they then wanted to go outside to skate.

We had an Indian takeaway for dinner and then it was time to hit the road and head home. Legally we could have stayed overnight, but for now we were happy just to visit - it’s the first time we’ve been in anyone’s house since lockdown, and today we were in three! We did wear masks whilst visiting our parents though, purely to protect them.

We left Rachel’s at about 8.45pm and are currently on the M40, and should be home about 1.15am. It’s been a long day but well worth it.

Happy 4th July to all the American Blippers!

So today, bars and restaurants reopened. Alan went to pick up the takeaway from the Indian restaurant, and he said it was absolutely packed - there was no social distancing, nowhere to queue, no one controlling the situation and waiters touching shoulders! I dread to think what it was like elsewhere and what the situation will be like in a few weeks...
