The Rugged Beauty of Sheep's Head
Blipped before in a different light but this really is one of the most special views on the Peninsula and I can't resist blipping this old farmhouse again. To the right is a very stormy Bantry Bay, you can just make out a fishing boat sheltering from stormy seas out beyond the bay. The backdrop to the cottage is the rugged mountain land which runs down the length of the peninsula. My place is just over the first ridge you can see. An old retired farmer lives in the cottage, no electricity and just the radio for company, like many of these bachelor farmers a bit too much drink is taken.
I have been working outside clearing some briars but the showers and gale force winds have sent me indoors. Tonight I'm heading out for a bit of French dancing, the last for a while as our teacher will be having her baby soon!
