Young Flyer

Took a walk to the heronry today and found a few birds still nest-bound. But most are now flying. They come back to visit but also take to the air. This fellow is landing. Soon he took off again. I imagine it must feel so delightful to fly, soaring above the world, looking down on a beautiful day.

Today we had a family zoom in the afternoon and a "party" with friends via zoom in the evening. That was great, especially the friend visit as there was one couple there we hadn't seen for months. Afterwards we watched Hamilton on Disney Plus. Wow! What an amazing show, and a perfect way to celebrate the birth of our country. Happy 4th of July to all Americans out there. For me it's a sad time right now with the current administration modeling all of the worst ways to be, greedy, racist, self-centered, and mean-spirited. But luckily there are lots of people here who are just the opposite, caring, open-minded, community spirited, and loving. I count my friends in this camp. And today was a good day to celebrate our friendships together.
