The Imaginative Life

“Then the Lord asked him, “What is that in your hand?”

What a joy it is that God would allow us to, and want us to dream with Him.

Had a really lovely day round at Nay and Janoux’s, friends of Rebekah’s from KXC. They invited us round to watch the livestream together - a small but significant beginning of the church being able to meet together in person again! :-) It’s a wonderful thing to meet people for the first time, and already have the position of being family, and the connection of having the most valuable thing in your life in common.

One phrase from the sermon that has stuck in my head: “Our lives are not for inviting God into our story, but for us to be invited into His.”

I so easily forget the authority and opportunity we have - because of the God we have - to look at the way the world is and say “I beg to differ”. To refuse to see that way as settled and permanent.
Not out of childish naivety, but out of an unyielding, childlike faith in a God who still loves this world. Who has not given up on it.

He asks us, “What do you have in your hand?”
A question that puts the Kingdom of God in the hands of ordinary people.

Lord would you let us see and catch your vision? We are hungry to share the dreams you have for our world in this generation. And for courage, to live in a way that would see those become a reality.

Gratefuls:

- That God has provided such a loving and supportive family for my sister in this city.
- Meeting Josephine outside Tesco, such a warm lady with a huge heart for people.
- Barbeques on a summer’s day! That we not only have food, but the choice of what we have for our meals.
