A day out in Ilkley

Too windy for the tops so we walked by the river and what with dog walkers and sea gulls it was quite picturesque. Then we heard and then saw the men in the river and were deciding it was some kind of Duke of Edinburgh survival scheme as we watched them swim across and then do a bit of disco canoing. Close up, they seemed a liiiittle old for the D of E. But then we spotted the fire engines. Problem solved - it's not enough to have to go into burning buildings, they have to go into near freezing water as well.
And aren't we glad they do!
