Vivian Getting Out/ Dwarf Gardenia
Vivian got out in the sun this morning, the first time in several weeks, maybe even months. The plants in the flower bed are Coleous, in all of their color! The sign is a direction sign where interested parties can go to ask questions, get a drive through, look at homes, Villa's and new constructions. The girls were out for the first time in 2 or 3 days. Everyone had a terrific long walk this morning, before the sun climbed to high and the tar got hot to walk on.
The second picture is the wild and woolly Dwarf Gardenia I posted yesterday. After the walk this morning, I moved the tree into the sun to dry out for a while. Then I sat down on the porch and started thinning out the tree. The actual tree can now be seen. The trunk has fattened up at the bottom, as well as the trunk going upwards and then leaning right. You also can see the primary branches that had been picked out 2 years ago. If you look carefully at the trunk and then look left, you can see the nabari, roots above the surface, have thickened and developed. From L to R, you can see a thick root, then a medium root, and then a new root on the right that is white and looks like a white worm.
Off of the primary branches are some secondaries that have developed. There were many more but they were removed.... too long and stringy. The ones that were left are on short primaries, well developed.
I have had this tree now for 2 years. During that time, after it's initial styling, it has been left to grow and flower. It's been loads of fun to watch it develop. The Gardenia photo is a wee bit dark.... A thunderstorm was rolling in with all of it's dark clouds. Time to go in the villa ! :-)))))
