Forward March

The Common Gallinule is such a great looking bird and a type of rail.  I love its bright beak and long toes....almost clownish!  Its call, to me, sounds like a maniacal laugh. Most people still refer to them as being Moorhens or Swamp Chickens :)

We have a few breeding pair around so it has become increasingly easier to see them out and about foraging for food.  See extra for another one.

I was going to head north this morning but due to a rubbish sleep, decided to closer to home. Still a good day out and about, so no complaints here!
