The old barn door

It was nice to have a go at a landscape again.. it feels like it has been a while.  I have been doing a lot of painting but not landscapes.  I did this from a photo taken on a grey day and today was much the same.. grey although a little warmer than of late and also a little less windy.  It is very hard to enjoy painting a photo with dull light so l injected it with some sunshine. 
A friend rang and asked if she and her daughter could call in today.  It was lovely to see them.  They stopped at Aldi on the way and l found myself offering them a handwash on arrival.  These are things that may one day become the norm.  Luckily the sun came out and we enjoyed a drink and a chat in the garden... lovely.
