Tiny Tuesday - This vehicle is reversing...

Ladybirds are amazing. They look so utterly alien in their earlier phases (extra) and end up as the delightful spotty red hemispheres we love to see tackling our aphid populations...!

This one is in its pupal stage, and seems to be reversing out of its casing. It's not; apparently that's what they look like until they burst out as a ladybird.

There's this video... and it's set to a fun and jaunty banjo tune... Because, you know, if you had a different background track and clever lighting it would give you nightmares!


Diary update: Just took Janet back to Southmead for a few days of dalliance and delight in the renal ward...
