Taking Stock
On March 21 I had the first blossom buds on my apple trees, today I have large, still developing apples hanging from the branches.
On March 21 I had a daughter away at university struggling with confidence, hampered by tutors and lacking direction. Today I have a daughter, brimming with confidence, has scored a 1st for her dissertation and is eagerly awaiting her other results.
On March 21 I had a son away at Kinloss in Scotland who was eagerly making plans for a father-son week in Rome for England’s match. Today I have a son cycling 420 miles in seven days for charity, to help those less fortunate.
The world has changed and we still need to see what the new normal looks like. I had my 50th anniversary of joining the Royal Navy in January and was fortunate to celebrate with friends.
In February I booked Mrs S and my first ever all inclusive holiday at a 4* hotel, limo pick up from the airport, trips and cruises booked - not to be.
In March I stood on the touch line of my local rugby club and cheered them on to a much needed win, today the club stands empty and silent.
It will be a new ‘normal’ for us to make the best of, life goes on.
Today’s photo is a montage of Joshua who started his sponsored cycle ride today.
