Watergrove
A busy morning followed by a splendid walk this afternoon, around the hills above Watergrove Reservoir. Martin and I noticed that the few mature trees high up on the hills, like this one, are all close to the ruins of former farm buildings, presumably planted for shelter and firewood. Life up there must have been really tough.
Just below the tree was a steep valley, full of rounded heaps of spoil from old coal mines.
No time for art today. To be resumed tomorrow.
