We've had rain today, hope it's enough to save the flowers and vegetables.   The Magpie was trying to fit himself into the bird bath earlier, I don't know why he wasn't using the bigger and deeper baths I've got scattered around the garden.
I visited my desperately ill colleague earlier, his sons and their partners are alternating staying with him so he can stay at home for as long as possible.   It's so, so sad to see him like this when only a few months ago he was unaware that anything was wrong.
