The chimneys
A lovely walk out of the village and up to the two large chimneys that sit on a hill and can be seen for miles around. The walk goes up hill alongside one of the flue that connected the smelt mill to the chimney and carried the smoke away from the valley. The extra you can see Into one of the flues as parts have collapsed. It’s a walk we often do but today was the busiest we have seen it and sat having lunch three groups walked past, plus another group sat at the second chimney.
Few jobs around the house when we got back and then made some on line purchases from Cath Kidston as I needed a new weekend hold-all and they had a sale with some very good reductions. Actually warm and dry with a light breeze for our walk, drizzling again when I took Hetty out this evening.
