We enjoyed an early breakfast at the river on this overcast, humid, thunderstorm-watch Wednesday. Any chores or errands were done early as this afternoon and evening could be storm-filled • What do these photos have in common? Each remind me of a common English Language Idiom • Take a look and see if you come up with the same ones I have • Starting Top Left going Clockwise • First: Playing Cat & Mouse - getting a shot of this Catbird was a bit tricky; he kept moving away from me • Next: Common Starlings travel in groups and symbolically teach us about group social etiquette. Mind Your Manners seems fitting (although I much prefer Pain in the Butt) • Eagle Eye. This one is the most obvious - agreed? • And last, the Ring-billed Gull. Look closely or you won’t get this one. Without a Leg to Stand On. This idiom originates from the late 16th Century, and is in reference to furniture, likely stools • Idioms are so commonplace they just roll off the tongue.
