Great Crested Grebe

Met up with my sister and went for a short walk from Yarrow Country Park towards Duxbury Wood. It was very muddy,  and a little slippy, by the side of the river so we returned to the lake via the fields. 

This bird's partner was at the other side of the lake with 3 humbug coloured chicks, but they were too far away for a decent shot. I walked round and tried to catch up with them, but they were hidden from view by the overhanging trees and vegetation.
