History

We live in Katonah, NY - about an hour north of NY City. In the late 19th century, the town of Katonah was flooded to make reservoirs for NYC's water supply. 50 buildings from the original town were moved to the new town established on higher ground.

This was one of those houses. What an enormous task to move a gigantic house with horse power and soaped logs. If you scroll down on this link, you will see a picture of this house being moved. It is a gorgeous house and I can certainly see why the owners wanted to save it.
