Acacia Avenue*
Ic this morning, everywhere crisp and frosty and the sheep in the field hadn't bothered to get up yet, still nestling under the trees. A fairly leisurely start then off to Joe's for more mega painting - all paintwork (off white remember, with a dark blue surround) now has had its first layer and is looking very snazzy. Ar around 3.30, when annoying bugs start coming out and afix themselves to damp paint, Joe suggested we went off for a walk. He fancied Rangihaeata where we had been a few weeks before and the inner goddess had leapt out. Only accessible at low tide we trusted his tide reading skills! He was quite correct and looked stunning - though some rock climbing was required at the headland. Those are pancake rocks and incredibly sharp but we clambered over like mountain goats, without incident. It's a remarkable place, seemingly unforgotten with high cliffs on one side full of bush, and a vast expanse of sea and sand on the other. There were marvels to be had - tons of acacia trees, vibrant yellow, heady with perfume and right on the beach! (I'm assuming they're acacia, please correct me if I'm wrong); and black swans, plus a tree full shells and that strange sunken forest blipped last time. The inner goddess threatened to burst forth, the blokes looked concerned. Magnificent.
A good day completed with fish and chips. Wrecked now.
* That used to be a joke didn't it, I never quite got it. Iron Maiden did- no you don't have to listen, just take my word for it!
And thanks for the love for the silly walks :)
