Mystery Sunflower

When our kids were little they made up a game called Mystery Sunflower. I was never privy to the details, but it involved a play table that was supposed to look like a pumpkin, but had scalloped edges and looked more like a flower. The Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater rhyme was painted along the edge. The center of the table lifted out by a stem handle to reveal a hidden basket. 

These sunflowers behind the garage were a surprise. I didn't plant them, and they're growing where we throw our Halloween pumpkins. Usually we get some pumpkin plants the following spring. Not so this year...sunflowers instead. It's a mystery.
