Exploring!
This is the woodland part of the garden, at the very end, where Barry has been building the hen house, almost complete, just a few finishing touches. The whole area is fenced off and Reg has not been allowed in here, still isn't by himself and definitely not when the chickens are home...this Saturday! They will have free range of the whole area. When Reg is allowed in he likes to explore as the grass has been left uncut and there is lots to graze on, as he loves to do at this time of the year.
While Barry spent the whole day down among the midges, I spent mine round the kitchen table, amongst books and technology, planning next year's vegetable growing. I even made a scaled drawing of the fruit cage to see what I could add in there to utilise as much growing space away from predators as possible! Extra photo, outside looking in.
Tesco made a delivery with everything I ordered, although it seems organic milk, in one litre bottles must be in short supply as the last two orders they have substituted two litre ones!
I made a parsnip and celeriac bake to go with our left over nut roast from yesterday and that was dinner sorted.
Although the day started grey the sun did appear in the afternoon and it turned out not too bad. Rain is forecast for tomorrow, hence the big push to get the hen house complete.
