Love in the post today.
We went for a long walk this morning, under rather cloudy skies after a chilly night. The radiators came on earlier around 6.00 am!
One of our usual routes using field paths, and this time ending up for a coffee and scone at Chase Farm. They have started to do lunches again, but sitting either in the open barn area or outside on the patio.
As it was rather windy, we opted to sit in the barn.
Coffee and a scone each with jam and cream was such a treat!
Fortified for the rest of the way home we set off once again.
By this time blue sky was beginning to appear, and then sunshine.
Stepping into our hall, having retrieved a parcel which was on the front doorstep, there was mail on the mat.
The parcel contains a surprise for Stephen as it is our wedding anniversary next Tuesday. July 14th.
So I will put it away till then!
A small package was next to be opened and in it were these letters and suncatchers that the grandchildren had written and made.
I had sent a box of craft supplies last month for them all. I must admit it made my heart squeeze reading their notes, and seeing the result of their efforts.
I miss them dreadfully but it just isn't possible yet to go and see them all yet.
Like Sammy says in his note "looking forward to seeing you properly when lockdown is finished. Until then it will have to be FaceTime”.
It is now warm and sunny outside. The washing is drying on the line, and I'm going to go into the garden.
Extra of the sun catchers hanging in the kitchen window.
