Twins
Today, the mum and fawn were in their usual place at dawn. I rushed to get my camera and the two of them had disappeared into the woods. As I scanned the wood line, the deer reappeared, or did they? No. I quickly realised that this was a different mum, with two smaller fawns. Mum is slimmer (we think the other doe is pregnant again). The twins were enjoying the sunshine under mum’s watchful eye. That is 5 deer within a few minutes. Almost a herd. The lack of the hunt this year due to the pandemic has clearly given the deer population a tiny chance of recovery. I am not looking forward to September when they are allowed out again with their guns. This small herd seem to be tame in comparison with the regular ‘scared to death of humans’ population. Extra pic is of all three.
