Janelle
I rarely get a photo of my daughter Janelle, and if I do it doesn’t pass the inspection. But I loved this one and she gave it the ok as well. We were sitting in the Danseys Pass Coach Inn having lunch, the back lighting was lovely.
We were on the road reasonably early driving to Duntroon then taking the inland route over the Danseys Pass. Absolute stunning country, gravel road so slow going with a few stops for photography and generally take in the BIG landscapes. We’ve been through here a few times over the years, but our Wellington family never had. And they loved the experience, albeit a slow experience.
Arrived at Naseby a small town surrounded by hills and mountains. Old buildings, quirky cottages. It seemed quite busy being school holidays. We unpacked at The Lodge then went for a look around, it’s another place they haven’t been to so for the “Big city” kids today has been a bit of a culture shock.
We had to book into the only eating place in town, The Royal Hotel before heading off to the the indoor curling complex. What a fabulous time we all had...we all just loved it, quite exhausting walking up and down sweeping furiously in front of the stones (weighing 20kg). It’s a real art heaving the stones down to the other end. Need practise, and we did improve as time went on. So much fun. Photo in xtra.
We’re just back from dinner, which was delicious. The pub was packed so very pleased we had reserved a table earlier. And the icing on the cake was the rugby was on In the adjoining room and was able to listen. We watched the last 20 minutes leaning on the bar (standing room only). Our Crusaders won well against the Auckland Blues. YUS!!!
More exciting places tomorrow.
