LD 110 Ettrick Bay

For the first time in almost 19 weeks I was on Bute this afternoon .

We took a walk along the beach at Ettrick Bay and , although the weather left a little to be desired, the place was certainly not full as the picture shows.   In fact I think I counted less than 30 people who were  spread all along this remarkable strand.

This is the place where  Andrew Blain Baird took the first all Scottish heavier than air flight in September 1910 - a feat commemorated by a plaque on the shore.     I am a trustee of the Baird of Bute Society, and have blipped some of its activities before including the annual celebration which includes , when weather permits, flights over this beach by the small planes which visit for the day.

Rula enjoyed herself too as the extra photos show.
