Basílica des cap des Port de Fornells.
New Normality day 19.
In the foreground are the foundations of a paleo-christian basilica. It is an archaeological site that corresponds to a group, possibly monastic, of early Christian constructions and burials located in the Port of Fornells (Mercadal). It was discovered in 1958 and excavated from 1975. Its dating goes from the 5th to the 7th century. In the distance you can see the large port at Fornells. The white house until recently was a picturesque ruin, of which I loved to take pictures: I'm sure it will be a nice dwelling once completed, but I do miss the old version.
Extra is a distant view of the mountain from the access road to the basilica.
