Making honey

Just a honey bee,  busy on the lavender in the garden this evening.  It is a wonderful sight, seeing them so hard at work on the gently swaying stalks.

Less wonderful, the ants are flying.  Fortunately none are too near the house this year.  I remember when Cathy and I had just got married, we both came home from work one warm summer evening to find a major motorway of the things just outside the backdoor, which was not what either of us wanted to have to deal with at that point in the day :-)
