Marwick Head Puffin
Puffins often look contemplative. On Marwick Head today it was not warm, and the wind at times was very strong and gusty- had to be particularly careful today. One summer's day I basically had to come down from the cliffs on all fours. Loads of birds- gannets, kittiwakes, guillemots, razorbills, fulmars, bonxies etc. I saw four Arctic skuas, the most in one day this lockdown summer, and 3 were light morph which was a reversal of the dark over light record for previous ones I have seen. A few harbour seals as usual hauled outt at Bay of Birsay. They aren't much bothered by walkers on the beach and this cropped image (extra) is from a fair way off.
