Mission impossible?

The objective for the Fight the Aliens Day, led by the Friends of the Lake District at White Moss Common, Rydal, was 'to pull up and kill every Himalayan Balsam plant we see'. Parts of the area had been strimmed a few weeks ago, and will be done again soon, but our job was to clear those plants hiding amongst the trees and bracken and alongside the stream. It will be a big job, but one day we'll win the fight.
