Goldsborough Mill
Our cycle ride today took us over the River Nidd and past Goldsborough Mill near Knaresborough. I last crossed the old wooden bridge there about 8 years ago, so I was interested to see that an archimedes screw generator has since been installed in the old mill race.
Having done a little research (here and here), it was installed in 2014 and provides 100kw of power which is sold to the National Grid.
I think the lorry on which it will have been delivered must have taken the route across the farm field to deliver it to site, as the wooden bridge from which the photo was taken is rather narrow and old.
I think the old mill building could do with a little TLC too.
