Florist

Today it was the florist to arrange for the flowers to decorate the church. Wen Xin and WenFang (the bride's sisters) and her mother, Kee Fun, and I had an expedition to Chinatown to order the flowers. There is a bit of deja vu here - with a wedding 2 days after Valentine's and in the middle of the Chinese New Year 15 day celebrations flowers will be in short supply, and expensive. I often regretted for choosing 18 February for my wedding because of the clash with Valentine's - well first year for 35 years that that date will have no significance.

However, for THIS wedding we have ordered white gerberas for the pews, and, if they are available, arum lilies for the arrangement on the Communion table. Wen Hui and her 3 sisters (as above, plus Wen Shan) will have white roses for bouquets.

Then it was lunch in Chinatown, for once not fast food as the service was very slow. We had its speciality, mee, fried noodles and also noodles Cantonese style.

The rest of the afternoon was spent resting by the pool, walking to Kiara 1 for coffee, milk and money improvising and 20 cms cake tin, until Wen Hui remembered she had one, and waiting for her to come home after 9 so we could eat.

It is strangely cool (well high 20's, not low 30's) and much less humid than it can be.

I've finished 'Doors Open' I enjoyed it - no murders. Unfortunately that's the last book on th MP3 as I didn't take time to load more and I'm not sure if there is a connector here.

Tomorrow number 3 son arrives with number 1 girlfriend and I have a cake to make.
