Cousins

...washing up after dinner. Marti and I made chicken soup, fruit salad, and veggie salad with lettuce and tomatoes I picked as fast as I could moments before we left home yesterday morning.

It stormed all last night, waves of thunder and hail and a lightening zap that sounded way too close. Usually I like storms, but they can be savage here. During a visit a few years ago we spent an evening squashed very gratefully down in the tornado shelter under Marti and Jason's garage floor with a weather radio for company. All ten of us - the four of us, the four of them, and the two grandparents! 

So didn't sleep well and am pretty exhausted. On the other hand, we're glad to be here now and enjoy each other.
